I haven't been feeling inspired to write. Which I guess is a good thing. The only thing inspiring me write now is the feeling like I am heading for a breakdown.

Good things only seem to lead to disappointment.
I am so sad because I am happy. There is no way this can last. Things never work out. Why should this time be any different?

It won't work and I want to cry. I am not a real person, so how could anyone have any sort of legitimate interest in me? They couldn't.
I am sad because I am happy.
I wish it worked the other way, too.    I would be happy a lot more often.
I have been thinking too hard. Not thinking, fretting. People must think I am insane. The faces I make when I am lost in these thoughts make me look like I am ready to collapse in a heap of sadness. Maybe I am.

I am made of brittle, brittle glass.
I need some goddamn bubble-wrap.

  1. I don't know whether feeling inspired to write or not is a good or bad thing,
and I aint got a scooby whether you'd be up for this or not either
    but what the hey

  3. I was thinking we, and anyone else that wants to join in write a short story - say around 500 words, give or take a little - it could be totally open, anything goes, so you can write whatever you like

or we could add different bits and bobs to it
    like choosing a title
or a particular theme, mood or setting,
    even a character

More off the wall ideas would be to write a story about a found object

or make a 500 word short out of an overheard conversation or a line you hear some-one say

just realised I got quite a lot of ideas for story short themes

the bit I like best about the game (apart from creating a little story) is that you get to read what someone else has come up with, which is usually a completely different story to your own even though you had the same theme

    what do you reckon

  4. I think that sounds like a marvelous idea! now, would we collaborate on one story or each write our own?

  5. I was thinking to start off with we could each write our own,
if you like you can pick the first theme
    then away we go

  6. I am very bad at making decisions, so could you pick the first one? this sounds like it will be very fun!

  7. no worries yeah sure thing
I was going to think off a title and then wed write to that,

But instead I quite like the idea of making a short story out of a found object,

So the gist would be, surf along contrarily until eventually, suddenly, as if by magic there it is the right object to write about,

Hopefully that will work, im thinking it will,
sort of just go about the day as normal, and then ping! That’s the right object,

    Maybe ittl be a teacup
    Who knows...?

So this object could be anywhere, inside or outside, it could be something we know or even something weve never seen before,

A pen would be easy, so might a penny on the floor, i guess different places maybe different objects, im going to stay local on this one,

so there it is find an object and turn it into a short story,

as its Monday I’m pretty sure I’d be up for posting something around the weekend

I’m thinking ill find my object today, maybe tomorrow, I first thought itd be outside but maybe not, maybe it will be a teacup, whoa, yeah this should be very fun,
    I wonder what they’ll be?

  8. I nearly forgot to add,
when I post my found object story around the end of the week, ill add a comment to the post so it’s clear which one it is (I just thought of that because I wrote a dream piece and if I end up posting a load of writing this week it might get confusing)

  9. I found my object, Whey hee!

Found it a few days ago but I got tied down doing other things, I don’t actually know what it is, it’s a bit of green plastic shaped like a triangle, I think I’m going to write my story tonight, maybe tomorrow it’s going to be called - The Green Triangle.

How you getting along with finding any objects?
Are you skimping out, no worries either way, or still in.

  12. I WILL write this story this weekend. I've been throwing a few ideas around this week, and I think once I start, it will all come together nicely. I'm excited. I need to get my mind of the literal and spend some time with the figurative.
